Let's say I modify the Max Boost Clock with KGB by adding a non-divisible-by-13 clock speed, will KGB automatically round up or down to the nearest VALID clock speed?ĥ. What is the difference between both and which setting is changed by KGB or V3DT?ĩ. Well, when I use the command "kgb.exe your_bios.rom" I see two values for power: Power Target: 200000 and Max Power Target: 225000.

So the only advantage of using 1.2125 is to eliminate throttling? Other than that, the max overclock of the card will be the same for both voltages? AFAIK, if you set the card to 1.1875 it will stay at 1.1875 when the card is at its Boost Clock (without KB), right? What if the card is overclocked with software such that the Offset is added to the Boost Clock, wouldn't a constant voltage (instead of 1.18785, we set the card to 1.2125 in vBIOS) be better to ensure that it won't crash at the Boost Clock event?ħ. I have no problems with throttling since my card is watercooled by the AC Accelero Hybrid Cooler. You card will not boost higher than this setting unless you manually over clock it by software.ĥ. It changes the clock table so that the highest clock will be capped at this setting. The GPU power target is what is settable in KGB, and is what you see via software adjustment.ġ. From what I can tell there is a GPU power target, and a total board power target. I have had no reports of anyone blowing their card up yet with KGB.ħ. I don't know, but I think 150% is quite safe. So your mileage may vary with this one.Ħ. However iv'e also seen where this can eliminate throttling. I've seen some strange or unpredictable side effects when running 1.2125. This allows the card to function as intended. However one caveat may be your card is unstable at 1267, you would then need to set Max_Boost_Freq to keep it from hitting 1267.ĥ.

If you use KGB or V3DT to mod your bios for more voltage and power it will boost up to 1267. You only see it go up to 1167 because you need more voltage, and power. 1267 is the highest clock your card can achive on its own (it's the highest clock in the clock table set in your bios). Again the Max_Boost_Freq is really just the highest clock in the clock table.Ĥ. You card will not boost higher than this setting unless you manually over clock it by software.ģ. Is it OK to use the latest GPUZ to get a dump of my stock vBIOS?1. Why are there two settings of power target?Ĩ. What is a safe power target setting for my card?ħ. Is it better to change the voltage to 1.1875 only and let the card boost to 1.2125 on ots own? Or is setting it directly to 1.2125 a better approach?Ħ. When I ran Heaven, I only see a Max Boost of 1167. According to KGB and V3DT, my stock Max Boost is 1267. What clock speed does KGB modify, Boost Clock or Max Boost Clock? AFAIK, Max Boost Clock = Boost Clock + Kepler Boost, correct?Ĥ. If I change ONLY the voltage, will I expect my card to boost higher than stock?ģ.

I have a couple of questions before using this on my Gigabyte GTX 670 WF3 OC.Ģ.
